Health Environmentalist (Metcalfe County) 

Barren River District Health Department has an opening for a Health Environmentalist I Grade 15 to work at the Metcalfe County Health Department. The minimum hourly wage is $15.51 per hour. Employees are under probationary period for 6 months. Once the probationary period is completed, the employee's salary will increase 5%. Requirements are a bachelor’s degree from a college or university with a minor or equivalent course work (24 semester hours) in environmental health, biological, or physical science or registration as a Kentucky Environmental Specialist/Sanitarian under KRS 223. Brief Job Description: Health Environmentalist to perform all environmental health inspections and investigations in Metcalfe County to ensure compliance with regulations, to include food service, hotel/motel, mobile home/recreation vehicle park, public building plan review, tattoo studio, school, septic tank cleaning vehicle, septic tank cleaning disposal site, ear/body piercing studio, youth camp, tanning bed, lead, swimming pool, beach, private water sample, rabies control and onsite sewage disposal system program; Investigates all nuisance complaints including mosquito control, bird, insect, and rodent; Issues notice/release in the methamphetamine lab program; Teaches Food Manager classes; Responds to environmental emergencies such as food vehicle accident, food service establishment fire, flood or other natural disaster, water service emergency; Provides information on mold as needed; Interprets reports generated by the Environmental Health Management Information System (EHMIS). Health Educator I

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Health Educator I to be based in Warren County, but will serve all 8 counties. The minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree and one year of health related or education experience. A master’s degree or bachelor’s degree or a professional license in the health or human services fields will substitute for one year of experience required. Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual. The minimum hourly rate is $15.51 with excellent benefits. Employees are under probationary period for 6 months. Once the probationary period is completed, the employee's salary will increase 5%. This position will implement a variety of health education programs. Duties will include Maternal/Child health initiatives, tobacco prevention, cessation and policy development. This position will also conduct biometric screenings and health counseling for Kentucky Employee Health Plan (KEHP) members. Additionally, this position will assist with CPR/First Aid certifications for agency staff and community members. Other duties as assigned. Community Outreach Worker (click for indeed.com)

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Community Outreach Worker to work on the Communicable Disease Team to be based in Warren County, but will serve all 8 counties (Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Simpson and Warren). The minimum requirements The minimum requirement is a High School Diploma or GED and six (6) months experience in public health or in another position with the provision of social services, supportive services, personal care or related duties. Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual. The minimum hourly rate is $13.50 with excellent benefits. Employees are under probationary period for 6 months. Once the probationary period is completed, the employee's salary will increase 5%. Duties to include: home visits and medication administration for TB DOT patients, assisting nursing staff with client follow-up as assigned, assisting nursing staff in TB clinic, clerical duties, computer data entry, filing, and writing letters. Local Health Nurse I (Float)

The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Local Health Nurse I position to work clinic in Logan, Simpson, Butler and Warren County. The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing. Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). Preference will also be given to applicants that are bilingual.

Duties include clinical nursing for all clinical programs. Travel will be required to other counties as needed after training is complete. Other duties as assigned. The Barren River District Health Department is accepting applications for a full-time Public Health Nurse I (grade 15) or LHNII (grade 18) position to work at the District office in Bowling Green as a Communicable Disease team member.  The minimum requirement is an Associate degree or diploma in nursing from an accredited college, university, or school of nursing.  Must have RN license in Kentucky or compact state or provisional license in Kentucky, meeting all requirements of KRS 314.041 and approval to practice as Registered Nurse Applicant (RNA). Responsibilities include: TB investigation and control activities, TB direct observed therapies home visits; investigation and case management of patients with communicable diseases; care coordination and follow-up with local medical providers, state program consultants, and client family members; data collection and analysis; outreach; and other duties as assigned. Barren River District Health Department has an opening for a full-time Administrative Specialist I Grade 18; to work at District office in Bowling Green. The minimum hourly rate is $14.78. Employees are under probationary period for 6 months. Once the probationary period is completed, the employee's salary will increase 5%.

The minimum requirement is a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health, Community Health, Accounting, Human Resource Management, Computer Science or related degree and two (2) year in administrative activities such as fiscal and budgeting activities, personnel and planning or closely related activities.

Duties include assisting the Director of Administrative Services with advertising for open positions, scheduling interviews, managing all employee benefits as it relates to enrollment, updates and terminations, and being the custodian of personnel records. This position will also manage the agency’s internship program and will participate on internal agency committees as needed. Other duties as assigned.
